KA210-ADU project linking upcycling & traditional felting for adult learners in rural/minority communities. Seeking partners from the Carpathian Basin.
Project Summary & Concept
We are preparing a KA210-ADU (Small-scale Partnership in Adult Education) project with an expected duration of 24 months. We are seeking partners from the Carpathian Basin (historical regions of Hungary, including Romania/Transylvania, Slovakia/Felvidék, Serbia/Délvidék, Ukraine/Kárpátalja) to co-create a green adult education model.
The project blends traditional craftsmanship (felting) with modern eco-consciousness (upcycling and zero-waste household management) to strengthen the economic, ecological, and social resilience of rural/city and minority/diaspora communities. The target group is adult learners, including parents, educators, local farmers, and community leaders.
4 Main Phases of the Project
Phase 1: Adult Educators' Mobility (Location: Toplita, RO): Methodological knowledge exchange between the project coordinators and trainers of the 3 partner organizations. Focusing on how to teach sustainability to adults effectively without being preachy. Co-designing the curriculum for the local workshops.
Phase 2: Local Community Workshops (In all 3 partner countries): Running weekend workshops for 20-30 local adults per country. Participants learn practical steps for household waste reduction, experience the stress-relief benefits of community felting, and establish a community recycling/upcycling point in a local community center.
Phase 3: Evaluation & Strategic Exchange (At a partner's location): Mid-term meeting to analyze adult learners' engagement, motivation factors, and how to integrate these green practices into the daily lives of isolated rural communities.
Phase 4: Tangible Output & Dissemination: Co-creating a practical, downloadable handbook titled "Green Household and Tradition – A Guidebook for Community Builders". The project concludes with a public closing event to showcase the results.
Partner Profile Sought
We are looking for NGOs, cultural associations, adult education centers, or informal groups operating in the Carpathian Basin (historical regions of Hungary) working with rural/city communities, diaspora youth/adults, or environmental education.
Role: Co-designing the project, hosting/sending 5-8 staff members for the international meetings, organizing local weekend workshops for adults, and contributing to the handbook.
Budget: All travel, material, and organizational costs are fully covered by erasmus+
