Using stand-up comedy and theatre to boost NEET youth employability, confidence, eloquence, and active participation.
The Erasmus of Laughter is an innovative small-scale partnership (KA210 Youth) that empowers NEET young people (16–30 years old) through humor, theatre, and stand-up comedy. Many young people far from education or work face difficulties in oral and written expression, which reduces their employability and participation in society. By using humor as a creative tool, we aim to turn these obstacles into strengths.
The project combines body expression workshops (Parkour & theatre), humor and eloquence training (stand-up, improvisation, comic writing), and local mini-scenes where young participants perform in safe, inclusive environments. These experiences build self-confidence, communication skills, creativity, and initiative — all crucial soft skills for employability.
A final international event – “The Erasmus of Laughter” – will showcase performances by young participants, bringing together audiences from different European countries. Alongside the artistic journey, we will create a pedagogical toolbox with methods, exercises, and video resources to be shared on the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform and with youth workers across Europe.
The project will have a double impact:
On participants: stronger self-expression, confidence, and key employability skills.
On communities: new inclusive cultural spaces and visibility for youth voices.
At European level: a transferable methodology combining humor, inclusion, and employability.
We are looking for youth organisations, cultural associations, or theatre schools in Europe with expertise in stand-up, improvisation, or communication training to join this exciting partnership.
