The Beautiful Ordinary (training course)

‘The Beautiful Ordinary’ proposes to build a live experience with a group of people (participants and locals) in a particular location (Picardie, France) for a given period of time (twenty days), documenting their coping mechanism regarding the clash between five different cultures, traditions and customs and that can turn into empathy and furthermore be the base element for personal, professional and cultural evolution. The outcomes shall then be bring together into a mockumentary/pure ficcional short length movie, portable, shareable and spreadable.
The starting point for this project is the simple fact that evolution involves creating empathy. So what f a more literal form of empathy could be triggered in individuals from all around europe, at the exact same moment inside of an hermetic enviroment, while all of them are experiencing being an outsider at their own way? What would the society think about this sudden connection, when differences stand together for equality unafraid? By recurring to one to the most reachable ways of expression, ‘The Beautiful Ordinary’ pretends to approach this matter and try to reach a sketch, to say the least, of possible answers.
‘The Beautiful Ordinary’ aims to demonstrate the apparent conflict between what society tells us is true about the nature and behavior’s matter of human beings at a microenvironment level and what we observe to be true about the same exact thing on a macroenvironment level. Just like the Schrödinger’s cat famous illustration, everything is possible amidst barriers, boundaries and prejudices.

Important Information: the project aims to take place in Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, France, from the 1st of June to the 21st. Considering the specificities of the project Nomadways will be looking for organizations (partners) and participants with a background that somehow fits the purpose of the project: performers, photographers, theoretical experts, musicians, sound and light designers.
