Empowering youth through art, non-formal learning and inclusion to build resilience, self-expression, confidence and active participation.
The aim of the project is to empower young people aged 18–30, especially young people with fewer opportunities, by providing them with a safe and supportive non-formal learning environment where art is used as a tool for expression, self-awareness and mental well-being. The project addresses real needs encountered in everyday youth work practice, such as emotional pressure, social isolation, lack of self-confidence and limited access to international learning opportunities.
From a youth work practice perspective, the project aims to:
provide young people with accessible and experiential non-formal learning methods, based on body expression, creative processes and reflection
strengthen mental resilience and emotional awareness, offering participants practical tools for self-regulation and self-expression
develop competences related to active participation, teamwork and intercultural communication through participatory group-based activities
empower young people with fewer opportunities by reducing barriers to international mobility and reinforcing their sense of belonging
enhance the role of young people as active co-creators of activities rather than passive recipients of content
At the same time, the project aims to improve the quality of youth work practice within the participating organisations and informal groups through the exchange of methodologies, experiences and good practices that link art with mental well-being and social inclusion.
The long-term objective is for participants to return to their local communities with increased self-confidence, strengthened competences and practical tools, which they can apply both on a personal level and in future youth work activities, dissemination actions and initiatives promoting active participation.
The project is expected to generate short-term, medium-term and long-term results and impact, both at participant level and at the level of organisations and local communities.
At participant level, the immediate results include:
increased self-confidence and ability for personal expression through artistic and experiential methods
improved emotional awareness, mental resilience and self-regulation skills
strengthened competences related to cooperation, active participation and intercultural communication
a stronger sense of belonging to a European community of young people
For young people with fewer opportunities in particular, the project is expected to act as a transformative experience, enhancing self-esteem and reducing psychological and practical barriers to participation in future mobility opportunities.
At medium-term level, participants are expected to transfer their knowledge and experiences to their local communities through dissemination activities, small workshops, artistic interventions and presentations. They will be encouraged to apply the competences acquired in educational, social or voluntary contexts, strengthening their role as active young people and multipliers of impact.
At the level of organisations and informal groups, the project will contribute to:
improving the quality of youth work practice through the exchange of methodologies that link art with mental well-being
strengthening the capacity of organisations to work with young people with fewer opportunities in an international context
building stronger and more sustainable transnational partnerships
In the long term, the project is expected to leave a positive footprint by:
promoting the use of art as a non-formal learning tool for mental empowerment within youth work
increasing young people’s participation in European programmes and active citizenship initiatives
ensuring the sustainability of cooperation among partners, with the perspective of future joint initiatives
Overall, the project aims to achieve meaningful and realistic impact that goes beyond the duration of the Youth Exchange and strengthens both individuals and the youth work ecosystems to which they belong.
