Teatri di Carta

Training course and youth exchange to foster dialogue through theatrical expressions between humans: disability as a tool for new ways of communication.

The project is structured on 2 mobility actions:
1) 4 days of traning for 8 youth workers - November 2018

Four days of training that will take place in Italy in Thiene (Vicenza, Italy) around November 2018 where the youth workers (2 for each participant organization) will exchange practices and experiences within the theatrical methodologies adopted with disabled people in their country of origin and they will start to co-design the youth exchange of April 2019, that will involve the participants with disabilities.

2) 6 days of youth exchange for 18 youngsters (at least 50 % of all the participants are people with disabilities) + 3 accompanying people + 3 youth leaders

In this activity, the participants will experience:
• theatrical workshops aimed to self-express and communicate with the other participants despite the cultural and linguistic differences
• visits of cultural and natural sites of the region
• intercultural nights to discover other cultures and traditions through food, dance and games
All the groups will use theatrical tools that were given to them during the preparation made by the youth workres and they will co-work to create a public theatrical show that will take place during the last day.

The objective of the project are:
- increase the mobility opportunities of people with disabilities
- improve awareness about skills and talents of people with disabilities
- facilitate the integration of people with disabilities with their peers in educational and recreational activities
