(TAU)Tolerance, Acceptance, Understanding

Bringing the ethnic minority youth together with their fellow citizens to increase the tolerance and understanding between young people.

Project Idea:
European societies are ethnically, culturally and religiously diverse. Most Ethnic groups are experiencing feelings of alienation and lack of belonging, which may lead to social unrest, separation, extremism and/or various types of violence, while the intolerance and social exclusion both in schools and communities are increased. Recent migration crisis resulted more in growing diversity, especially with respect to culture, ethnicity and religion that poses both opportunities and challenges to European societies. If the increasing cultural, ethnic and religious diversity is not addressed effectively, and young people continue to feel excluded, social cohesion in European societies will be at risk. The project idea is to bring the ethnic minority youth together with their fellow citizens in a multicultural environment to increase the tolerance and understanding between young people and show that the diversity provides advantages rather than threats to European societies.
Objectives of the project:
- To increase the sense of tolerance among young people
- To discover the advantages of tolerance and understanding between cultures
- To give youth workers the skills to spread the meaning of tolerance among the youth

Target groups:
Youth leaders/workers, representatives of youth organizations, ethnic minority youth
