‘’Talk about the power of words’’ is a project which aims to raise awareness in young people about learning a second language and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Some studies shows that speaking more than one language can delay the onset of dementia, regardless of education level. It is also thought to lead to better development of the areas of the brain that handle executive functions and attention tasks.
We are looking for volunteers who will collaborate in the motivation of people with Alzheimer’s Disease. The main tasks of the volunteers will be collaborating in teaching them a second language, animating music workshops with them etc.
With this project we can see if learning a second language help them protect against dementia.
