Our project subject is related the symbol of blessing and abundance “Bocuk Night”.
Bocuk Night which is the symbol of blessing and abundance with 200 years of history in Turkey is celebrated in Edirne's Keşan district every year in January. The most basic element of Bocuk Night, which is celebrated on the coldest night of the year, is the expectation of blessing and abundance and the motive to protect from unknown badness. The local people, wearing horror-themed clothes unique to that day, make noise by stealing tambourines or cans from the streets and show them the lanterns carved out of pumpkin in their hands. Within the scope of this project, we are looking for project partners who have similar cultural values with the theme of blessing and abundance and want to promote these values.
