Switch ON

Switch ON is a technologically mediated guidance service for adolescents: We will support adolescents by using mobile messenger apps and online chatline service

Switch ON is born to support adolescents in their growth path. We started from a simple fact: today adolescents find a easy way to share their problems by using the social media. As the smartphones spread all around Europe we think that a guidance service to give help to adolescents to get on with their everyday's problem wil be a good choice. We will train a group of professionals and volunteers in the specific task related to the techonologically mediated help relationship building. As it is a new way to give guidance we have already discuss the whole thing with Fabiana Gatti, Phd and Professor of Social Psychology of Mediated Communication @Università Cattolica di Milano: Fabiana helped us in designing the project's modules and to put on a specific training course for volunteers and professionals.
Switch ON aims to create a new online guidance service, free, easy to use and accessible to adolescents and youths. The service will provide guidance, information and a small online counselling to the users on their age-related topics, such as sexuality, relationships, psychological health, family struggles, school problems and job finding.
We hope that Switch ON couldf become a shared practice and involve an increasing number of eruopean countries. We recently started a first sperimental version of the project: you can easily take a look at our website for more information. www.switch-on.org
