Outline of project
• 18 – 24 months (Start: October 2022, first project week February/März 2023)
• 3 mobilities (1 mobility of youth workers, 2 youth exchanges)
Age group
• Mobility of youth workers: 18+
(willingness to participate in at least one youth exchange as youthleader)
• Youth Exchange: 18-30 years old
Objectives:
• Educating young people on a holistic view of sustainability (social, ecological, educational)
young people in thinking critically about concepts of sustainability and their impact in the world
(economy, migration, health…)
• Giving young people the opportunity to experience and contribute to sustainable projects through hands on activities and experiences
• Supporting young people in self-reflection and long-term, sustainable character growth
• Build youth workers`capacity to work more effectively with young people on the topics of eco-related actions and sustainable ways of living
• Explore nonformal learning tools and environmental educational methods
• Share experience, methods and practice
1. Mobility of Youth Workers in Berlin, Germany, February/März 2023
• Preparing youth workers to work with methods of nonformal - , environmental - , nature- and adventurebased education
• reflecting on different aspects of sustainability (ecological, social, economic, educational)
• emotional impact and societal views on sustainability • Extremism, anxiety and tolerance around the topic of sustainability
• discover creative sustainability in the city, sustainable urban design & urban gardening
• create experimental and innovative sustainability culture for groups
• developing methods for the youth exchanges/ sharing good practices between our organizations
• Exchange & learning about working with sustainabil projects in youth work
• Supporting feelings of community and connection in groups
2) & 3) Youth Exchanges or Workshop - Not fixed yet
some ideas:
• focus on personal development e.g. being sustainable with your personal resources, taking on responsibility, teamwork, connecting to nature (e.g. tour formats, solo night …)
• Reflections of different types of sustainability // why is sustainability important?
• Fears/challenges around sustainability
• Preparing and analyzing the impact of a connection to nature
• Experiencing and contributing to eco-friendly ways of living (building projects … )
• Learning about sustainable living
• adapting sustainable practices into our home communities / countries
• stimulate social participation
