SuperBa - Superando Barriere (provisional title)

Promoting inclusion and solidarity with youth with disabilities and migrants, through practical urban regeneration activities to break down barriers.

The informal group "Giovani AIFO" wants to carry out, in the week from 13th to 20th July 2020, in Liguria (North of Italy), a youth exchange project to promote inclusion, solidarity, cooperation, creatively addressing the problem of social exclusion and racism, involving especially young people with disabilities and young migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, promoting the participation of the local citizenship, through non-formal education activities, cultural and culinary activities and practical urban regeneration activities to break down architectural and cultural barriers and enhance the potentiality of participation and well-being.
The exchange will be preceded, at the end of May, by an APV (Advanced Preliminary Visit).
After the exchange, in September-October 2020, the two groups of participants will have to carry out at least one initiative to promote inclusion and solidarity in the country where they live.

Project overview

SuperBa - Superando Barriere (provisional title) is a project by
AIFO
taking place
from 2020-07-13 till 2020-07-20
This project relates to:
Youth Exchanges
and is focusing on:
  • Anti-discrimination
  • Disability
  • Human rights
  • Integration
  • Intercultural dialogue
  • Non-formal learning
  • Sustainable development
  • Urban/rural development
  • Volunteering
This project can include young people with fewer opportunities like
  • Disability
  • Cultural differences
  • Health problems
We want to work with a group composed by: 16 participants (including at least 2 migrants, refugees, asylum seekers or second generation) would participate in the exchange: - 14 young people between 20 and 27 years of age (of which at least 2 with disabilities) - 2 group leaders (of which at least one with disabilities) The AIFO Youth Group, being at its first Erasmus + design experience, is looking for a partner with the following characteristics: • Be a real group of young people, including young migrants or young people with disabilities or be an association involving also young people (especially young migrants or young people with disabilities), interested in increasing youth participation; • To be committed to volunteering and inclusion, against racism, discrimination and for the rights of people with disabilities and migrant people; We would like the partner to already know AIFO and/or associations working on the issue of inclusion of people usually excluded from participation (as for instance people with leprosy, migrant people, people with disability). It is essential that the partner, from the first phase of conception, takes the responsibility of: • identification of the group of participants (composed in a coherent way with the themes of the exchange) • preparation of the group at local level so that it can participate in the exchange • constant communication with the AIFO Youth Group • involvement at local level of associations and institutions that will be involved in the preparation and dissemination of the exchange and that, in the future, could also collaborate in the implementation of a project on site
