Stronger Bridges for Better Social Inclusion

Project is a 8 days of mobility of youth workers: Training course organised by Youth Inclusion Association in Istanbul, Turkey that gathers 38 youth workers

The refugee population of European Union countries are 1.9 millions of people, in addition to this; Turkey hosts 2.9 millions of refugees. Considering these numbers of refugees and asylum seekers, these groups have been faced the political, social, and economic exlusion as a daily challange. Compared to the local community; refugees and asylum seekers are disadvantaged in getting the standard health care and social services, employment processes. Furthermore the refugees and asylum seekers face discrimination and violation of their human rights.

Although this issue has been addressed above considered a common problem of European Union Countries and Turkey; Turkey as well the project will take place is one of the most important key player as a gateway by the geopolitical position and also the top host country for the refugees and asylum seekers.

As well the refugees and asylum seekers problem has been increasing sharply year to year, but there are no sufficient precautions taken to raise awareness in the communities about this issue or to provide the necessary help for refugees and asylum seekers.

The process of integration of young people among the refugees and local communities have a great importance and influence of breaking of this problematic chain, of raising the awareness in the society, of becoming a milestone solution for any possible common problems.

Especially when it comes to youth and youth work, Younclusion extremely cares the social inclusion of all people to the community, strictly believes that the civil society and youth work can distinctly help addressing the issues mentioned above in Turkey and Europe related to the priorities of EU2020 policies and Erasmus Plus programme.

According to this, the civil society needs well equipped youth workers with competences and skills to use in the working process of inclusion of refugee and asylum seeker young people in their communities

The training course is an effective response for addressing these needs by empowering, training and improving the competences and skills of youth workers that are working with refugees and asylum seekers. The training course will offer new non-formal learning tools for inclusion of refugee and asylum seekers youth in community that will raise awareness about social inclusion and intercultural dialogue also to be standed against discrimination, racism, xenophobia.
