A TC focused on self-awareness, stress management and healthy habits to achieve wellbeing and improve effectiveness, empathy and resilience in youth work.
This 8-days training course will focus in the connection with ourselves in order to help us recover integral health and well-being in every aspect of life. The healthier we are and the better we know ourselves, the better we can understand and support youth.
The activities will improve the skills of youth workers in stress and conflicts management, as well as promote specific habits and behaviour models that prevent or solve different causes of health disorders which reduce efficiency at work. Being more aware, empathetic and resilient improves communication, job satisfaction, and increases the quality and success of programmes and activities developed for young people.
Contact with nature and work in the open air will be a fundamental aspect of this eminently practical course, which will use specific techniques as Mindfulness, Yoga, Amaranta Method, Biodanza, Theatre of the Oppressed, as well as other methodologies based on non-formal learning.
Objectives:
• Analyse and discuss the factors that generate stress and how it affects our work with young people; identify needs and share good practices developed in our organisations;
• put into practice mental and emotional release techniques to manage stress and the strongest emotions of everyday life, thus being more effective at work;
• obtain an `Emergency kit´ with useful tools for moments of stress and emotional instability;
• reactivate our sensitivity, creativity and innovative capacity within youth work;
• address the lack of holistic health and mental/emotional wellbeing of young people in our communities and how it undermines their participation and active citizenship, especially in the aftermath of covid-19, and look for possible solutions;
