To strengthen the capacity of youth workers to integrate human rights education into their daily work with young people by effectively using the Compass Manual
Young people often face human rights challenges such as discrimination, exclusion, inequality, and lack of awareness about their rights. Many youth workers and volunteers do not have enough practical tools to address these issues effectively in their daily work. This training is needed to strengthen their knowledge and skills in human rights education, so they can better support young people to understand, protect, and stand up for their rights using interactive methods like the Compass manual.
OBJECTIVES:
To develop participants’ understanding of human rights principles and their relevance to youth work, with a focus on empowering young people in diverse social contexts.
To familiarize participants with the structure, content, and methodology of the Compass manual, enabling them to confidently navigate and apply its activities in non-formal education settings.
To equip participants with practical skills to design and facilitate human rights education activities, using experiential, participatory, and learner centered approaches.
To enhance participants’ ability to address human rights issues critically and reflectively with young people, including topics such as discrimination, inclusion, equality, and social justice.
To support participants in integrating human rights education into their ongoing youth work practices, ensuring sustainability and adaptation of methods within their local communities and organizations.
