The project aims at building more resilient rural areas through fostering youth leadership and entrepreneurship culture.
Young people in rural areas have less opportunities than their urban peers in terms of education and employment as well as having less chances to participate in public and political life. Besides, they usually grow in isolated communities usually characterized by closed mind mentality to innovative solutions and to internationalization.
Normally, a young person from a remote rural area is limited to follow one of the two paths which are to leave for a bigger city or stay and adjust to the existing status quo. However, many young people are not aware that there is a third way - entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is a great way to unleash their creativity, become local leaders and even create new opportunities for other young people.
Based on our own experience of choosing to stay in rural areas and growing a successful innovative startup here we would like to inspire rural youth to become agents of change for their communities.The main objective of our project is to empower rural youth by:
Stimulating active social engagement of youth in tackling rural challenges;
Motivating youth to be proactive European citizens and think out of box in solving rural challenges;
Contributing to the personal and professional development of young people in rural areas;
Providing help in developing useful career skills;
Popularize rural entrepreneurship and innovative approach;
Foster intercultural dialogue and learning and European identity among rural youth;
The expected overall impact from the project is more resilient rural economies through capacity building of youth, facilitating youth leadership and entrepreneurship as well as tackling youth unemployment.
