Stories We Tell is developed to engage youth workers and writers into developing tools focused in storytelling and its potentials.
For fourteen days, twenty youth workers and artists, from seven different countries, will participate in a Training Course in Saint Valery sur Somme in Picardie. Together they will share personal and professional experiences and analyze the influence of the storytelling and creative writing in the perception of remote local communities have of the outside world. Through workshops, which will merge non-formal and informal learning methods, the participants will develop work tools that enable them to capture attention of local young people, regardless of their geographical location and socio-economic and political conditions. The set of activities to be undertaken will be defined, planned and animated by the participants, according to their taste, expertise and personal knowledge. In turn, the set of methods, tools and exercises developed over the course of the numerous activities will be implemented by the participants, resulting in webpages showcasing local legends, myths and historical facts (result of the local research) and original stories, poems, letters, essays inspired by the region. The final object developed by participants and local youth will be presented to the local community and later released on a European scale.
