Stories of Humans Feeding Stray animals

A project highlighting compassion and civic values by sharing stories of people who care for stray animals, promoting empathy, awareness, and inclusion.

Stories of Humans Feeding Stray Animals

This project explores the social, emotional, and cultural dimensions of human-animal interactions, focusing on individuals and communities who voluntarily care for stray animals in urban and rural areas. Acts of kindness such as feeding stray cats and dogs are not only reflections of compassion but also speak to broader values of social responsibility, coexistence, and community-building. Through this project, partners from various European countries and Türkiye will document personal stories, local practices, and community initiatives that support stray animals.

The project will promote empathy and civic engagement, especially among youth and university students, by raising awareness about animal welfare and encouraging responsible behavior towards animals. Activities will include story collection and digital archiving, creative workshops, short documentaries, and public exhibitions. By combining elements of storytelling, social responsibility, and informal education, the project aims to foster shared European values of compassion, active citizenship, and inclusion—while celebrating a unique but often overlooked aspect of daily life.
