Partner Request for the Youth Exchange Project „Stereotypes between men and women in countries“

Origin of the Idea

Idea was born in youth Exchange,then we had an idea about stereotypes and finally in training „Ideaboosters“, we decided to write a exhcange Project, because we want to destroy all of the stereotypes that are set between different stereotypes of gender roles in many countries.

We are looking for 6 more partners to join the Project.

Summary of the Project

The youth Exchange „Stereotypes between men and women in countries“ is focusing on the stereotypes by women and men, exploring how stereotypes are dominating in relations. We want to bring together 30 young people aged 16- 22 years old from at least 6 countries to Daugirdiskes, Lithuania for the 10 days exchange in august 2014. The main aim of this exchange is to understand how stereotypes are influencing our lives. During the exchange we will try to look what stereotypes prevailing in each country and are going to break those stereotypes.

During the first part of the youth exchange programme young people will get to know each other
and each other countries and cultures through presenting themselves, sharing their opinions on
main themes of the Exchange, they will explore and learn basics of stereotypes, will exchange
views on stereotypes and will creatively present important aspects of about them in their cultures.

During the second part of the youth exchange participants will get involved in organising various
cultural events: dance, sexes Exchange, workshops. During day time they will be exploring and sharing on how stereotypes are changing our everyday lifes (role models, consumerism, lifestyles). The participants in small groups will be creating collages, small theatrical sketches, will have rounds of presentations and discussions.

Cultural visits to old and historic city of Lithuania Trakai and capital of Lithuania Vilnius, in the Centre for Gender Equality will be part of the Programme.

6 Young people and 1 group leader

We are looking for 6 young people from each country aged 16-22 to join the project. 1 group
leader should accompany young people in preparation, be present during the youth exchange and
support the group in follow-up activities after the exchange. Due to the laws we will have to follow
the policy of no alcohol and the use of other harmful substances during the Exchange.

Deadlines and costs

We are ready to apply for the 17of March deadline to get funding from the „Eramus+“ programme fixed amount of travel costs depending the traveling distance".

We will be waiting definite confirmation from the partners as soon as possible. If you are
interested, please fill in and send us back the partner identification form. We will contact each
partner individually to know more details about your young people, activities in preparation and
follow-up, interests to contribute to the programme and activities of the Exchange.
