Starting Over

The project "Starting Over" aims to address the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey's southeast region, particularly focusing on the city of Adıyaman, which suffered significant damage. The project focuses on rebuilding social structures in the fields of education, culture, tourism, arts, sports, and youth. It aims to empower young people by involving them in decision-making processes, fostering active citizenship, and developing a roadmap for recovery.

The project will organize workshops, seminars, and international meetings where youth participants will work on solutions for the cultural and social revival of the city. These activities are designed to foster leadership, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship skills in young people, allowing them to take an active role in rebuilding their communities. The workshops will focus on sharing ideas, analyzing current challenges, and proposing policies to restore the educational, cultural, and social landscapes in the affected region.

Key outcomes include the creation of a roadmap for post-disaster recovery and the revitalization of cultural and social structures through the engagement of youth. This will be achieved through collaborative efforts with international partners from Estonia and Portugal, as well as local schools and youth organizations in Turkey​
