StarScape: Lights Off, Stars On II

StarScape: Lights Off, Stars On II (SLOSO II) is a planned Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange coordinated by the Eurasia Youth Climate Association (Avrasya Gençlik İklimi Derneği) from Türkiye.

The project is being prepared for the 1 October 2026 Erasmus+ application round and will take place in Karabük, Türkiye, if approved. It is designed as a 5-day Youth Exchange, supported by 2 travel days, bringing together young people from four countries.

SLOSO II focuses on light pollution, energy efficiency, dark-sky protection, astronomy, astrophotography, science communication and environmental participation. The project aims to transform environmental awareness into observation, critical thinking, practical learning and realistic solution development.

The programme will be based on non-formal and experiential learning. Planned activities include light-pollution workshops, urban and dark-sky observations, analysis of outdoor lighting practices, telescope-based sky observation, safe solar observation, introductory astrophotography, intercultural group work, science communication activities, dark-sky-friendly lighting solution development and daily reflection linked to Youthpass competences.

SLOSO II builds on the experience of the first StarScape: Lights Off, Stars On Youth Exchange, successfully implemented in Karabük in June 2026. The second edition will further develop the approach by placing stronger emphasis on observation, interpretation, solution development and local dissemination.
