Sports, sea and sun

Sports, cultural exchange and education in southern Spain

Description

The project “Sports, Sea and sun” has been designed by the Office of Youth from the town of Barbate in order to foster the cultural exchange of town youngsters. It is located in the Program Erasmus+ and belongs to Action Key I, Youthful Exchange.
Barbate is a small town placed in southern Spain in the area of La Janda, province of Cádiz, It is only 14 kms away from Africa separated by the strait of Gibraltar.
Our new project, after the success we achieved with the previous one and the satisfaction it provided us, is born with the idea of reaching economical, social or culturally disadvantaged young people and giving them a chance to meet different cultures and practice sports having into mind gender equality education, language learning and cultural exchange as the main background.
We are all aware of the gender inequallity existing in many fields of life nowadays and our aim is trying to help these different cultures young people improve their gender conscience.

General goal

Promoting youthful exchange of young people from 18 to 25 years old belonging to low economical resources groups and/or the most disadvantaged social classes; giving them a chance to know a different environment, a different country and culture for 9 days in which they will take part in different sports and cultural activities.
