We support disadvantaged youth by improving their project participation and strengthening their digital skills, communication abilities and personal growth all
Smart Mind, Smart Tools: Digital Detox for Youth” is a comprehensive youth project designed to help young people rethink their relationship with the digital world and develop balance and awareness in their technology use. Today’s youth are constantly exposed to algorithm-driven content flows, social media pressure, online competition, and the culture of always being connected. This reality often leads to distraction, stress, social isolation, burnout, and digital addiction. Our project offers a safe and supportive learning environment where young people can step outside this cycle, reconnect with themselves, and build healthier digital habits.
Throughout the program, participants will engage in creative and experiential activities such as Human WiFi, Emoji Detox, Algorithm Court, and Troll Debate to reflect on their digital behaviors while also strengthening their empathy, communication, and critical-thinking skills. In addition, outdoor activities, nature-based tasks, intercultural evenings, teamwork missions, and artistic workshops will help them build stronger social connections and enhance their self-expression. Bringing together young people from different countries encourages cultural exchange, allows them to explore similar issues from diverse perspectives, and promotes solidarity-based problem-solving.
Including young people with fewer opportunities is a key priority of the project. We aim to support the participation of youth who face economic or social obstacles and have limited access to international programs. By doing so, we not only contribute to their personal development and confidence-building but also empower them to become agents of change in their own communities.
The outputs produced during the seven-day program—such as a digital detox guide, creative toolkit, videos, posters, and participant-created materials—will be shared through youth centers, universities, digital platforms, and local communities. By the end of the project, participants will have improved their digital well-being, emotional and social skills, intercultural understanding, and ability to communicate in healthy and meaningful ways. The project ultimately aims to create a long-lasting impact on sustainable and conscious technology use at both individual and community levels.
