SIYOUTH - Social Impact Evaluation for Youth and Community-based Projects

The project includes the development, launch, and validation of a training course designed to actively engage youth workers and young leaders in social impact evaluation, with a particular focus on youth-focused projects and sustainable community development.

General objective: To enhance the effectiveness, accountability, and long-term sustainability of youth and community-based projects across the Euro-Mediterranean region through social impact evaluation.

Specific objective/s: To build the key competences and capacities of youth workers on social impact evaluation of youth-focused initiatives and projects in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Venue: Palermo, Italy
Duration: 7 days (excluding travel days)
Date: May or June 2026 (to be defined)

Learning modules:
- Introduction to social impact evaluation and its applications in youth work and community development.
- Theory of change and social impact evaluation.
- Integrating intersectional thinking into social impact evaluation: questions and indicators identified through an intersectional lens.
- Stakeholders engagement in the evaluation process.
- Generating a counterfactual and applying experimental, quasi-experimental, and qualitative evaluation methods.
- Choosing the appropriate evaluation methods, data sources and data collection methods.
- Sampling, survey and operationalising the impact evaluation.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Dissemination and advocacy with donors.
