Sing a song for refugees

multilateral exchange to be held in Gran Canaria. Each partner prepare a a proper song and a common song before coming to the Canaries.

Sing a song for Refugees.

Multilateral exchange with a broad partnership to be held in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain.

Our idea is that each partner a given work (chooses each country) and a common song before coming to the Canaries. The songs are related to understanding, solidarity and peace. It is a polyphonic choral theme, but it is not necessary that the participants are professionals in choral music. You not even need to know music. The important thing is to be motivated and spend a little time to prepare your own song and the song to sing together.

During the week of activities in the Canary Islands will be some time for rehearsals, know the city, we meetings with other local youth and adult choirs and maintain contact with refugees and organizations working with them, involving them in the project activities. We will also discuss the role of choral music for understanding, solidarity and peace.

The last day of activities will make a public performance of the songs of each partner and the common group singing.

Each group in the country can count on the collaboration of local choirs to help in the preparation process.

The week of activities will execute in the first half of 2017.
