The project will involve a group of young people who are given the opportunity to experience the reality of the communities that make up a city such as Siena.
It is a very particular reality, different from any other city, and it is distinguished by the well known horse race in the traditional event called “Palio”. What characterizes the city of Siena is not the horse race that takes place twice a year, but the organization that has continued throughout the year, all the feelings and emotions it evokes in the people of Siena, in particular the sense of belonging and
sharing.
The tradition, culture and values ​​ deep-seaded that characterize the “Contrade”could make possible the transmission of these. The boys would be able to get to know an old tradition that the basic social unit and that tends to pass on principles of social character such as solidarity, love for the community and their city, a willingness to engage voluntarily and free of charge a task that has its purpose to create cohesion and support in the society of Siena.
Living the district means to grow in a community where you come back being together, dealing with peers, with adults, with the elderly and with children.
During mobility youngers will be able to share with their peers planned activities and visits the most significant sites that allow them to integrate and understand, taking part, the social reality of the city. They will document their experiences through photographs and blogs daily updatde, with the aim to learn how to use technology and share their experience through words and images.
