The Sharing Economy fights against the pessimistic view of the current situation and presents itself as an opportunity to develop new attitudes and ideas.
In the EU-28, 19.092 million men and women were unemployed in May 2017 rating 9,3%.
Youth unemployment rates are generally much higher, even double or more than double, than unemployment rates for all ages; moreover, the economic crisis severely hit the young.
From the second quarter of 2008, the youth unemployment rate has taken an upward trend peaking in 23.9 % in the first quarter 2013, before receding to 19.7 % at the end of 2015.
Although the new trends are promising, the unemployment rate is low yet considering the EU target of achieving a 75% employment rate.
The Sharing Economy (or Collaborative Consumption), in facts, has been representing a resilient reaction to this crisis, as it presented new economic models focused on customers’ real needs and on new ways of informed consumption. The main experiences are based on reuse instead of purchasing, on accessibility rather than property.
The proposal “Share to grow!” fights against the pessimistic view of the current situation, which leads young people to social exclusion, and presents itself as an opportunity to develop new attitudes, presenting social and business actions that can contribute to change, in time when these are extremely necessary.
