Shape your future! Seminar on social innovation strategies to raise youth employment

“What is Social Innovation?
Social innovation can be defined as the development and implementation of new ideas (products, services and models) to meet social needs and create new social relationships or collaborations. It represents new responses to pressing social demands, which affect the process of social interactions.
Social innovations are innovations that are social in both their ends and their means. They are not only good for society but also enhance individuals' capacity to act.”

The Seminar "Shape your future!” will bring together an international group of young workers coming from the social sector that are developing their own ideas and are working on them. We will create an open space for discussion, sharing experiences and good practices of successfull social innovations, and proposing new future plans among the group of participants. Social innovations are supported by the EU 2020 strategies and will be explicity integrated in the Structural Funds 2014-2020, offering further possibilities to Memeber States and regions to invest in social innovation. The seminar will be facilitated by a professional facilitator with spechees from different experts in the sector. It also foreseen visits to sicilian social enterpreises leaded by young people (as co-working, hurban garden organisations, social cooperatives fighting against mafia, etc).

The seminar will be realized in Sicily (Palermo) in November 2013. During the event the costs for food and accomodation will be covered at 100% and the travel costs will be reimbursed at 70%.
