SClown - Social Clowning for Youth

The project "SClown" promotes the development of professional skills of youth workers, through a european mobility program and a period of 6 days of training (excluding 2 days of travel).
The course is open to those who are already engaged in the field of social and youth, and it will allow them to use effective methods of non-formal education and entertaining, such as the "Social Clowning", in order to promote the support of young people and meet the needs of even those young with greater difficulties and at risk of social exclusion.
The training course consists of practical and theoretical activities. The activities will be based on the acquisition of "technical work" of the actor, who will create in students an awareness of the expressive potential of the body, allowing you to gain new skills appropriate to the issues of interpretation and personalization of the "social theater".
Will be explored themes and techniques related to the figure of the clown, from the construction of the character and the gags, the use of the stage space even in places of discomfort.
Participants will live an important social experience, artistic and communicative, unique and fun, to freely express themselves, their ideas, their feelings and emotions.
During the workshop develops concentration, balance, collaboration, the ability to laugh at themselves, to play down its limits.

The project will be implemented in the town of Reggio Calabria, Italy in next summer 2017.

Profile of participants:
- Youth workers, youth leaders, project managers, volunteers in youth organisations, NGO/public sector staff working with youth, over 18 years old and involved in the work of the organisations.

* able to communicate in English or Italian
* willing to get involved into project's activities
