We want to promote the active participation and empowerment of young people according to the slogan “creating autonomy trough boundaries”.
SAVE UP for Y-EU is a youth mobility project involving 30 youngsters between 21 and 24 years old, from different European countries, promoted by Passi Società Cooperativa. It deals with an issue identified during previous mobility projects, that is the intolerance of the young participants (especially the younger) in having to deal with limited budgets and "rules of the game" typical of a funded project. Our minimum goal is to develop a greater awareness on the value of money and his management. But not only. We want to promote the active participation and empowerment of young people with an approach that strongly take into account predefined rules and limits, according to the slogan “creating autonomy trough boundaries”. This is just a step of what living in a society requires, compliance with law first of all.
The economic sustainability of projects, preparation of project budget, the collection of proposals to improve the program's budgetary constraints, will be the most important issues addressed during the activities. At the end of this process of reflection, experiential learning and awareness acquiring, the youngsters will discover the real opportunities of a sustainable management of resources and the goodness of acting in compliance with the “rules of game”.
For the implementation of activities, we will make use of formal and non-formal learning methodologies. A central role will play Theatre of the Oppressed participatory techniques, integrated with Gopp method: in this way, we are going to define problems and solutions trees, about needs and issues that young people believe the program should be comply. Specifically, we will work on the concept of economic sustainability of the project (winking also to the concept of environmental sustainability) with the aim to include in the solution tree new attitudes acquired during the sessions of activities.
At the end of the project, the participants will benefit from the acquisition of skills and attitude useful for their full realization as individual and social subjects. Ability to manage, sustainably and efficiently, a “project” and his constraints will be a key skill in their future work experiences, but also in their associative and social life and in any relationship that requires a sense of reciprocity and compliance with rules. The sense of responsibility and the appreciation for sustainability concept will drive them in all the "projects" and
challenges they will encounter in the professional carrier and in social life.
