S.E.E. - SPORT EQUALITY ENGINE

Nowadays, between 40% and 60% of the European population is conducting a sedentary life. Promoting the role of physical activity in European societies represents a major goal. Sport has a powerful educational value and could be seen as a formidable engine to boost inclusion and integration of disadvantaged background people and minorities in their own communities. The Sport Equality Engine (S.E.E.) project aims at developing and promoting an innovative sport teaching methodology for training institutions capable to enhance the role of sport with regard to people well-being and social inclusion. Moreover, it aims at making the practice of physical activity more attractive. Thanks to a preliminary needs analysis delivered by the members of the Consortium and due to further inquiries it will identify the weakest points of actual teaching methodologies and it will develop its own innovative one taking into account the recommendations of the "EU Physical Activity Guidelines". The Consortium will create a guidebook containing the principles of the new methodology designed by the project including policy recommendations for public bodies aimed at improving the governance of the sport promotion. In addition, it will develop new and more attractive approach to the practice of physical activity. Moreover, with regard to the "EU Physical Activity Guidelines", the project will simplify the document by extracting its core principles using them to create and test an IT tool, the Sport Care Tool. The Sport Care Tool will raise the awareness of people about the EU strategy in the field of sport and will let people self-assess if their own lifestyle comply with the minimum requirements needed to run a healthy life. For the ones who don't comply with them, it will use the innovative sport teaching methodology previously created by the project to suggest them a training path targeted to correct their lifestyle.
