RURACT (RURal areas and ACTive citizenship) aims at promoting opportunities for young people living in rural areas

RURACT (RURal areas and ACTive citizenship: promoting opportunities for young people), with a total lifespan of 6 months, aims at organizing a youth exchange of 7 days due to take place on October 2016 in a small Italian region, Molise. The participants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
The project’s goals are: 1. To involve a group of motivated young people who meet some basic requirements and whose participation may result in an effective and proactive contribution and in sustainable development initiatives after the project’s conclusion; 2. To empower all participants and ensure they feel involved and actively support the exchange agenda; 3. By using non-formal and informal learning, to provide knowledge and tools aimed at enabling rural young to take advantage of all possible opportunities; 4. To foster experience and knowledge exchange through the analysis of practical examples; 5. To promote the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge and to motivate rural young to work for their development and for active participation; 6. To motivate young people to cooperate with policy makers and decision makers; 7. To review, develop and propose any recommendations and ideas; 8. To disseminate the project’s results among all participants’ communities; 9. To develop/strengthen networking and cooperation initiatives between youth organizations in rural areas; 10. To identify future steps/necessary strategies to promote territorial and active citizenship of young people in rural areas.
