RRR Reloaded

Reduce Reuse Recycle in Youth Projects - Erasmus+, KA1, Training course Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Why this project:
Environmental impact of a youth project is very often a concern of environmental NGOs or NGOs who carry out projects on an environmental topic. Mitigation of the negative environmental impact of a youth project is not very common in the case of those projects and youth organizations that are focused on other topics (social inclusion, human rights, employability, sports, LGBT, ect)
This project addresses the need of those youth organizations and youth workers, who would like to integrate activities and measures aimed at preventing the negative impact on the environment of their activities with young people.

Aim of the project:
To improve the capacity of youth organizations and workers to integrate environmental protection measures in their youth projects and activities and to use the Reduce Reuse Recycle concept during the project lifetime in order to have an environmentally responsible project.

Target group:
This project is focusing on youth workers from organizations and projects that don’t have environmental protection as a main goal.

Objectives:
1. Developing the understanding of 24 youth workers regarding the environmental impact of our day by day habits and our youth projects.
2. Providing tools, methods and knowledge to youth workers and their respective organizations to integrate in any of their projects the concept of the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and thus have a more environmentally responsible project
3. Developing the competences of youth workers to raise awareness and empower the young people in their projects to make a positive change in terms of their care about environment.

Main activities: 7 days training course in June 2016.
During the training the main activities will be focused on: workshops, discussions, sharing of knowledge and good practices, discussions and debates with local experts.
After the training there will be a follow-up activity where the participants are to share how they implemented the RRR concept in their first project or activity.
Other activities will be decided together with the partners in a common co-creative effort, based on the specific needs of organizations and youth workers.

Expected outcomes
