Summary:
Combating climate change is a top priority for the EU. Europe is working hard to substantially cut its greenhouse gas emissions while encouraging other nations and regions to do likewise. At the same time, the EU is developing a strategy for adapting to the impacts of climate change that can no longer be prevented. Reining in climate change carries a cost, but doing nothing will be far more expensive in the long run. Besides, investing in the green technologies that cut emissions will also create jobs and boost the economy. So what can we, young people, do? How can we contribute to the combat against climate changes? Do we have a voice that is heard? To whom can we direct our questions and opinions? Will the sustainable development help to the decrease of climate changes? This are some of the questions that we want to discuss, and debate during this Youth exchange, that will happen on the region of Algarve, between February 8 and 16, 2012.
