Roots for the Future | KA152 Youth Exchange in Murcia (Spain)

Youth exchange connecting agricultural and environmental heritage with sustainability and youth participation, empowering young people dealing local challenges.

The project will bring together young people from different European countries in Murcia for a 5-day exchange focused on environmental sustainability, agricultural and rural heritage, youth participation and non-formal learning, previsibly to organize it by May 2027.

Using the "Huerta de Murcia" as a living classroom, participants will explore how previous generations managed natural resources, reflect on current environmental challenges, learn from local initiatives and develop ideas that can be transferred to their own communities.

The project will involve young people with fewer opportunities, who may face economic, social, cultural, educational, geographical or other barriers. To ensure their full participation, support will include clear and accessible information before the mobility, individual needs assessment, guidance on travel and practical arrangements, language and communication support, and continuous assistance from team leaders and facilitators. During the exchange, inclusive and non-formal methods, peer support and a safe environment will help ensure that all participants can actively participate and benefit from the project.
