Roots and Routes: Youth, Identity and Intercultural Dialogue between Europe and the Mediterranean

We are looking for partner organisations from Morocco, Albania, and Romania to develop an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project focused on intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and active citizenship.

Lucca (Italy) is home to growing communities with roots in Morocco, Albania, and Romania. Although many young people share the same schools and daily life, opportunities to explore each other's cultural heritage and build meaningful relationships are still limited. This project aims to transform cultural diversity into a resource for learning and social cohesion.

Objectives

-Promote intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.
- Reduce stereotypes and prejudice through direct encounters.
- Strengthen European values of inclusion, solidarity, and respect for diversity.
- Develop participants' intercultural, social, and communication skills.
- Increase the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in Erasmus+.

The project foresees four youth exchanges, hosted in Italy, Morocco, Albania, and Romania, each dedicated to a specific theme: cultural identity, memory and traditions, European citizenship, and living together in multicultural societies.

The target group is young people aged 18–25, with particular attention to participants with fewer opportunities and diverse cultural backgrounds.

We are looking for organisations experienced in youth work, non-formal education, and inclusion. Partners will actively contribute to project design, participant preparation, implementation, dissemination, and follow-up activities.
