Respect Religious Diversity is a youth exchange for young people from Programme and Neighbourhood Countries in Istanbul, Turkey between 13-20 February 2021.

Respect Religious Diversity is a youth exchange for young people from Programme and Neighbourhood Countries under Erasmus+ Youth exchange organized by IYACA with the partner organisations in Istanbul, Turkey between 13-20 February 2021. The project will gather 5 young people and 1 youth leader per country from 6 different countries (Turkey, ………), 38 participants in total. Gender balance will be guaranteed in the project %50-%50 participant males. Two participants from each partner organisations will be among young people with fewer opportunities. It will be the first time abroad or in an Erasmus+ projects, for half of the participants.

The aim of the youth exchange is to build a safe space for young people coming from different social and religious backgrounds to learn about 3 Abrahamic religions through non-formal education methods as a tool to increase the participants’ intercultural learning. Participants will enrich their knowledge and awareness regarding the other religions and the growing importance of mutual-understanding. Different religions will be used as a tool in intercultural learning in the project. The youth exchange will be based on non-formal education methods such as energizers, simulations/role plays, reflection groups, group works, field visits. All will be applied with a high level of intercultural learning and strong connection with local people and culture.

This youth exchange is a follow up initiative of the training course “Discover Religious Diversity” which was organized by IYACA in Istanbul, Turkey between 12-19 December 2015. Now, we would like to disseminate our experiences to more young people in a new environment. IYACA has long experiences with working with programme and neighbourhood countries.

Target Group:
Young people are who;
-are over the age of 18-25 years old.
-are interested in cultural dialogue and different religions
-would like to contribute to the project by sharing knowledge about religions
-can participate the project from preparation to follow up
-can work in English

Financial conditions
The accommodation, food, and visa for all participants will be covered in total by the project budget. For grant support to travel costs in the Erasmus+ Programme, travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator provided below. Based on the distance expressed in km, the corresponding distance band must be chosen in the application and report forms. ) Each participant must prove tickets and boarding cards. http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm
