REEL YOU

The idea for REEL YOU comes from the need to strengthen youth workers’ confidence, communication and digital competences, helping them connect with young people in the digital spaces where they spend much of their time.

Many youth workers have valuable knowledge and experience, but may lack confidence in front of the camera or practical skills in storytelling, mobile video creation, editing and social media content planning. REEL YOU aims to bridge this gap by supporting participants in moving from social media consumers to confident, authentic creators and communicators.

The project combines personal development with practical digital skills. Through public speaking, improvisation, body expression and storytelling, participants will explore their authentic voice and overcome the fear of being visible. Practical workshops will focus on filming with a smartphone, sound, lighting, editing, subtitles, content creation and the responsible use of AI.

Participants will also critically explore social media, algorithms, viral content, authenticity, manipulation and responsible digital communication. The ultimate goal is to empower youth workers to use social media not simply to gain visibility, but as a meaningful tool for reaching, engaging and inspiring young people and strengthening youth work in the digital environment.
