Readers of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow: A Cultural Bridge via Libraries

Mutual Erasmus+ youth exchange project by Cankiri Public Library for 10 avid student readers, featuring public library studies and cultural routes in Turkiye.

We are looking for an international partner (such as a public library, youth NGO, school, or municipality) from ANY Erasmus+ programme country to co-create a "Sister Libraries" bridge. Our project is designed as a reciprocal (mutual) Youth Exchange. In the first phase, our top 10 most avid student readers from Cankiri (Turkey) will visit the partner's city to explore their libraries and cultural heritage. In the second phase, we will host 10 student readers from the partner organisation here. Our cultural program and trip route will include exploring the historic 5,000-year-old Underground Salt City (Tuz Magarasi) in Cankiri, experiencing the natural heritage of Ilgaz Mountain, walking through the breathtaking Horma Canyon in Kastamonu, and discovering the beautiful Black Sea coast in Cide. All travel, accommodation (at a public guesthouse), and meal costs for both directions will be 100% funded by the Erasmus+ grant. If you are interested in building a mutual cultural bridge through books, please contact us at kutuphane18@ktb.gov.tr with your OID number.
