Quo Vadis Europa II

We plan a project for young citizens aged 16 to 21 within the funding program “Europe for Citizens” (“Democratic engagement and civic participation”).

The LEB Sachsen e.V. is a non-profit organization from Germany (Saxony). In the past we realized high-quality youth projects at our office in Zschopau.

For example:

We plan a new project within the funding program “Europe for Citizens” (program range 2 “Democratic engagement and civic participation”). For that we are looking for non-profit organizations as partners in the following countries: France, Ireland, Italy, Norway. The pro-ject partners require a PIC.

We will submit a project on 1 March 2015. The project is aimed at young adults in the age of 16 to 21 years.

The planned project duration is from 1 October 2015 to 31 March 2017.

We have planned following activities:

- An opening event with all organizers of the participating countries in Germany (two days on location)
- Reciprocal visits between guest partner and host partner: each participating country sends 10 students and two organizers (five days on location each)
(for example Germany-Ireland and Ireland-Germany)
- An event in the middle of the project in Germany with two organizers and three stu-dents from each participating country (three days on location)
- A final event in Germany with two organizers and three students from each partici-pating country (three days on location)

The activities are supposed to be realized during the school holidays by prior arrangement with the participating countries. We have researched possible dates in advance.

Project content:

The aim of the project is to initiate a discourse on Europe’s future with young adults in a complex transnational project work. The central question is: In which Europe will live once your child?

In this context the participants get to know the European Union, its political culture and forms of intercultural communication in relation to the European Member States that are involved in the project.

The main concern is that the participants come together to talk about Europe, their respec-tive lives and the future of Europe just as their own future.

In the mutual visits, the discussions will take place in the mornings. In the afternoons, the belonged things should be documented in pictures by means of photography. In addition, the participants will generate a new song per visit. This song shall be written, composed and recorded by the participants themselves.

Financing – cost scheduled

- Travel expenses and cost of food for participants and organizers
- Financial compensation for organizers of the participating countries
- The rent for a studio in each participating country
- The fee for an interpreter on location
