Youth exchange empowering young people aged 18–25 to promote safe gaming, prevent cyberbullying, strengthen digital citizenship, and protect mental well-being.
Gaming can provide entertainment, social connection and a sense of belonging for young people. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, participation in online gaming among young people increased gradually. While this created new opportunities for socialisation, it also increased the possibility of witnessing and experiencing cyberbullying. Therefore, there is a growing need to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to contribute to safer, healthier and more inclusive gaming spaces.
This project aims to develop awareness about cyberbullying in gaming environments and create positive change among young people. It aims to draw attention to the concept of digital citizenship and empower youth to be inclusive, develop positive communication skills and support mental well-being in online spaces. Participants will exchange experiences, identify common challenges through intercultural exchange. They will also be encouraged to become active peer advocates spreading the EU digital citizenship values within their communities.
