Power of Blue

Power of Blue is a youth exchange project focusing on marine pollution, environmental awareness, and youth participation, with a strong connection to the Mediterranean region.

Plastic pollution and marine degradation are growing environmental threats affecting ecosystems, biodiversity, and human health. Through this youth exchange, we aim to empower young people to better understand these challenges and actively take part in environmental protection using non-formal education methods.

The project will bring together young people from different countries to learn, exchange experiences, and take action together through workshops, environmental activities, intercultural learning, and community-based actions.

The exchange will be hosted in Demre, Antalya (Türkiye)*, a coastal area directly affected by marine pollution and environmental pressure.

Main Objectives

•⁠ ⁠Raise awareness about marine pollution, plastic waste, and sustainability
•⁠ ⁠Promote environmentally responsible behavior among young people
•⁠ ⁠Strengthen youth participation, teamwork, and active citizenship
•⁠ ⁠Encourage intercultural dialogue around shared environmental challenges
•⁠ ⁠Support inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities

Planned Activities

•⁠ ⁠Environmental education and awareness workshops
•⁠ ⁠Recycling and upcycling workshops
•⁠ ⁠Beach and coastal clean-up activities
•⁠ ⁠Workshops on sustainability and the European Green Deal
•⁠ ⁠Creative and drama-based activities on environmental topics
•⁠ ⁠Intercultural learning sessions
•⁠ ⁠Field visits to local environmental initiatives
•⁠ ⁠Daily reflections and Youthpass learning recognition

All activities will be based on non-formal education and active participation.

Participants

•⁠ ⁠Age: 18–30
•⁠ ⁠Around 30 participants in total (including group leaders)
•⁠ ⁠Young people interested in environment, sustainability, youth work
•⁠ ⁠Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities is a priority

Partner Profile – Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for partner organizations that:

•⁠ ⁠Work with young people (youth NGOs, informal youth groups, associations)
•⁠ ⁠Have interest or experience in environmental topics or sustainability
•⁠ ⁠Can support participant selection, preparation, and follow-up
•⁠ ⁠Are motivated to actively contribute to the exchange and dissemination

Previous Erasmus+ experience is welcome but not mandatory.

Project Status

This project is planned for resubmission in the upcoming Erasmus+ call
The concept and activity framework are ready, and we are currently finalizing the partnership.
