Play Like a Girl!

Partner organisations have to be registered in one of the Erasmus+ Programme countries or South Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia). It is necessary that the organisation’s has experience and is active in promotion of sport, organising sport events and activities, or can establish partnership with local community sport organisations, since it is important for the project implementation and its activities.

Without any doubt, sport is an important key to ensure physical and mental well-being of young people. Moreover, it can also teach much more valuable lessons, such as importance of team work, leadership, discipline, communication, and other skills that are essential for youth education. However, based on the research and our own experience, starting from the early age, it is mainly boys who are encouraged to get involved in sport activities. At the same time, there are also a lot of stereotypes and negative attitudes towards women in sports. Have you ever heard a saying “he plays like a girl”? Unfortunately, it is rather not a compliment, and we are willing to change it.

“Play Like a Girl” is a multiple-activity project with the main aim to develop tools and methods, which will promote engagement and active participation of young women in sport programs and activities of local clubs and organisations. The project will consists of several transnational events, online-meetings and seminars, local campaigns and events, through active cooperation of organisations from Programme and South Mediterranean countries (list of activities and venues will be confirmed after finalizing the consortium members). During the project we are also planning to produce several intellectual outputs, such as a handbook and guides for youth and sports organisations, online platform, researches and project report.
