The Partner-Finding Tool
The Physical Culture and Sports Hygiene project aims to demonstrate in an easy and accessible way, sports hygiene as a necessary part of everyday life of youth
The problem of obesity and overweight among the growing population (16-24), both at European and world level, is taking on a threatening scale. Every year, the World Health Organization (WHO) presents reports on poor nutrition, lack of exercising and the lack of any physical culture among children of 16 years and above.
The Physical Culture and Sports Hygiene project will discuss these issues and, more specifically, their roots. The project aims to demonstrate in an easy and accessible way, with the help of proper pedagogical and psychological techniques, sports hygiene as a necessary part of everyday life of the youths. The main goal of the project is to raise awareness of the harm caused by the lack of sports hygiene, the proper development of physical culture, awareness of the dangers caused by lack and misconduct of sports, and to increase self-initiative and sport-physical education among young people. It is necessary to create supportive environment and communities to shape the daily choices of young people and prevent obesity. Individual responsibility can only have full effect when people have access to a healthier lifestyle and regular physical activity to help maintain a healthy body.
The youth exchange foresees 6 organisations from European Union countries with a high percentage of inactive youths. Each organisation will be represented by a team of 5 people (1 leader and 4 participants, aged between 18-24). The project will take place in Bulgaria, in Dolna Banya, within the European Week of Sport 24-29 September 2018.
