Philosophy and AI: training critical thinkers in the digital age.
THE PROJECT: PHILOSOPHY MEETS AI "Philosophical Counseling between Craftsmanship and Artificial Intelligence" is a high-quality Youth Exchange (KA152) designed to bridge the gap between the slow, reflective "craftsmanship" of human thought (Socratic Dialogue) and the hyper-speed of Artificial Intelligence.
THE CHALLENGE Young people are adopting AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney) faster than they are developing the critical skills to question them. There is a risk of becoming passive consumers. We aim to transform participants from "users" into "critical thinkers" who can guide the machine with ethical awareness.
METHODOLOGY & ACTIVITIES Strictly following Erasmus+ Youth Quality Standards, the 7-day mobility in Italy follows a progressive flow:
The Craft (Analog): Rediscovering face-to-face Socratic Dialogue, deep listening, and critical questioning without screens.
The Machine (Digital): Hands-on "Ethical Prompt Engineering" labs. Testing biases, fake news, and the limits of AI.
The Synthesis (Action): A "Philosophical Hackathon" where mixed-nationality teams solve ethical dilemmas using AI.
Outcome: Creation of a "Youth Ethical Manifesto on AI" to be disseminated across Europe.
CERTIFICATION 100% of participants will receive a Youthpass, focusing on Digital Competence, Citizenship, and Personal, Social & Learning to Learn skills.
