Project topic TC : Empowering youth workers with permaculture skills to foster sustainability, well-being, and community resilience for a regenerative future.
Project Overview:
“Permaculture – A Regenerative Future” integrates permaculture principles into youth work to address key global challenges such as climate change, social isolation, mental health, and the erosion of collective values. This holistic and transformative educational approach aims to empower youth workers with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to support young people towards sustainable living and community well-being.
Objectives:
Provide youth workers with a comprehensive toolkit based on permaculture principles, including observation, design, care for the earth, care for people, and equitable sharing.
Support professional growth through experiential, active, and community-based learning methods.
Strengthen relationships between youth workers and vulnerable young adults via the People Care approach.
Foster creative problem-solving through ecosystem observation, systems thinking, and regenerative design.
Create lasting impact by promoting sustainability, well-being, and interconnectedness among European youth.
Activities:
Gathering 27 participants (25 youth workers and 2 facilitators) from partner countries in a natural setting.
Alternating between theory and hands-on workshops on garden design, permaculture principles, and sustainable cycle creation.
Including holistic well-being practices like yoga, meditation, and emotional intelligence exercises.
Organizing community-strengthening sessions focusing on sustainable lifestyles, inclusion, and work-life balance.
Facilitating intercultural exchanges on nature, education, vulnerability, and social transitions.
Co-creating locally adaptable projects such as garden workshops, youth permaculture clubs, and community events.
Target Groups:
Youth workers supporting marginalized youth including LGBTQIA+, NEET, and individuals from rural or urban disadvantaged backgrounds.
Expected Impact:
Participants:
Acquire cross-disciplinary skills in permaculture education, relational intelligence, and community project management. Gain practical gardening and ecosystem design expertise while improving mental well-being.
Partner Organizations:
Enhance capacities for eco-responsible youth work, adopt inclusive holistic practices, and adapt training content to various local environments.
Communities:
Raise awareness on sustainable lifestyles, build networks among youth professionals, and spread regenerative, cooperative, and resilient values in society.
