Perform for the refugees-Creating a Welcoming Europe

“Perform for the refugees- Creating a welcoming Europe” it is a youth exchange funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme that will bring 42 young people from 7 European countries in Busteni, Romania for 7 days. Participants with backgrounds with fewer possibilities from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, representatives of “minorities” in countries of their residence have priority in this project.
The project was created due to the need of the society in increasing awareness of the difficulties and rights of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the social inclusion process. The youth exchange fallows to create a space for dialogue bringing together young people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds raising their sense of belonging to Europe. Another main objective will be to empower youth to take an active role in local communities and to foster their feeling of sharing and respecting common values. At the end of the exchange the participants will artistically perform for the community raising awareness of the difficulties and rights of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants promoting social inclusion and European values.
Non- formal education methods will be used during the exchange with the purpose of stimulating the participants in research and discuss about discrimination and the factors that affect it within their own countries, then work together multi-nationally, using input from their own culture, to raise awareness and address these issues and the methods in which problems may be resolved. This will be done using the artistic performances forms they prefer, thereby promoting and presenting their culture and at the same time becoming part of a larger group and tackling a wider issue.

After the project will be finished the participants will be equipped with an proactive attitude through their own communities from which new projects will arise.
