The Partner-Finding Tool
PEACE + aims at fostering youth skills in peacebuilding and non-violent conflicts' resolution, in order to educate them to peace and active citizenship.
The main objective of the PEACE + project is to develop among the young participants some basic peacebuilding and non-violent conflict resolution skills in order to make them active citizens interested in public affairs and major socio-economic changes in society in which we live.
Through the project PEACE + a group of young people will have the chance to: reflect on the nature of interpersonal relationship and in particolar on the conflict relation; build a collective discussion and analysis on the tools for nonviolent and solidal action in order to pass from a comptetive approach to a cooperative approach.
In order to reach the objective, the project will implement several activities based on non formal methodologies:
- Icebreaking and team building activities with the aim of bringing participants together, consolidating the group and creating a participative working environment.
- Introduction of the themes, concepts, and approaches to peace-building, which will allow young people to observe, experiment and criticize the theories of peace in group activities, laboratories, and in every circumstance of conflict where they can be found.
- Laboratory on Nonviolent Conflict Management, which will provide a theoretical basis for young people on the concept of conflict, to recognize and present non-violent conflict management tools.
- Laboratories on nonviolent direct action methodologies and simulations of international conflicts.
At the conclusion of the exchange, the young participants will benefit from a more sensitive topic in the historical moment in which we live, enabling them to understand how conflicts can be managed in a nonviolent way through interactive activities.
