The Partner-Finding Tool
The training course is designed to enrich the skills of youth workers with practical coaching and positive psychology tools, to increase the wellbeing of people
In many countries there is still lack of integration of young people with fewer opportunities, and especially those with a different sexual and gender identity than the norm. Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender + youth is exposed to hate-speech, bullying, hate crimes, violence and harassment in their online and social environments. The fear of discrimination and isolation stops their freedom of expression and opening up. There is lack of confidence, self-acceptance and initiatives, which results in a passive attitude, excluding themselves from civil societies.
To support those young people to take a step forward or to take initiative in creating their lives and living their potential, the society needs youth workers that are equipped to create safe spaces for them to do so. These youngsters need youth workers who are acquainted with their needs and struggles and know how to empower them by staying away from judging, victimizing or rescuing them. What we see and experience in youth work around Europe is that some youth workers are not yet aware of how to achieve that, or know how to do it, and are interested in updating their approach. This training will provide youth workers with uptodate tools from coaching and positive psychology to support them in addressing the LGBT+ community in a healthy and efficient way. Applying coaching tools enables them to find out what their working group needs and applying positive psychology tools enables them to increase the well-being of their working group.
