Zona Franka is planning start up a EU Youth Exchange (KA1 :Learning Mobility of Individuals). It will be about Intercultural dialogue through the instrument of the photography!

Who we are?
Zona Franka is a social-cultural organization, born in Bari in 2002, thanks to the enthusiasm and the determination of youngsters, to collect requests and to answer to everybody’s needs, ideas or rights to claim.
Zona Franka is a place for confrontation and aggregation and an urban studio which aims to help meetings between ideas and social groups, toward political and cultural changes of our self environment, social integration and inclusion, environmental sustainability of ways of living, fight against marginalization, gender equality and, more in general, youth involvement.
Zona Franka has always considered intercultural dialogue as a basic tool for building human and social relationships so as to reduce cultural barriers and to be open to increase the value of differences. In these years Zona Franka had experienced dialogue between cultures using different languages, in the way of being and engine of human development and social inclusion inside our urban community.
Topic Project
The goal Zona Franka wants to reach through this Project is to promote intercultural dialogue between youngsters coming from different European contexts, using photographical language.
This project will be realized in Bari in Autumn 2015 and it will involve 30 youngsters from Europe.
Behind every cultures, there are different cultural and social stories which mark each Country. We want to tackle every kind of stereotypes, because we believe in cultural differences as an instrument to improve cultural and social development of Countries, with the general goal of real European integration, through cooperation between people from different traditions and the active participation of the citizenship.
One of the instrument to achieve this goal is the photography.
Why the photography?
The photography shows how some imagines which could seem to have an universal meaning, could actually have different meanings and interpretations, according with different cultural backgrounds and points of view.
Photography is an emotional language which produce reflections and processes of deep introspection.
During the project participants will choose themes in relation with the intercultural dialogue’s frame, they will discuss about stereotypes and prejudices, through informal and shared methods.
Selection criteria and general goal
The selection criteria to participate to the project will be through application forms, and the interest of participant for photography and themes of the project.
In the end of the project, the participants will gain fundamental skills to debate constructively the theme of tolerance and respect for differences, in the way to build a strong intercultural dialogue between people.
