Work with children with disabilities and horses, work with local volunteers, working in an organization with 20 years of experience working with volunteers
Since we're working with a large number of volunteers (about 200 per year) and that most of them are young people from 15 to 30 years old, we would like to involve volunteers from the EU which would give an international dimension to our volunteer program. Interworking which includes training and education would enable both sides developing competencies that with formal education provide young people more employment opportunities and independence. Mutual communication involves learning and / or improving nonative languages. Working and living in a multilingual environment is a great asset for young people because of their interpenetration, linguistic and cultural, Exchange of experiences (the structure of the countries, education, (un) employment, ...) allows volunteers an insight into their origin and the possibility of creating a future based on the information obtained.
Objectives of the project:
1. enable young people to volunteer in an association with a longstanding and ongoing volunteer programs
2.develop the key competences required in the labor market through training, education, education
3.develop the key skills required in the labor market through training, education, education
4.increase the quality of the organization's work with young people
Profile and number of participants:
2 volunteers between 18 and 30 years who want to gain knowledge about working with children with cerebral palsy and horses. Experience is not required but is welcomed.
For the safety of all participants in the program, it is important that the volunteer is person who follows the instructions and comply with them.
VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:
BASIC TRAINING
1 The maintenance of internal spaces (cleaning stables, keeping the horse from the stable of outlets, cleaning simpler for people-living room, bathroom and dressing room)
2 Maintenance estates and outdoor spaces (cleaning outlets, guiding the horse to pasture, mowing grass, making fences, canopies, ...)
ADVANCED TRAINING
1 Volunteer training (cleaning horses, halter horses, cleaning stables, maintenance of therapy )
2 Companion of the second rider in training (care for the safety of users during therapy)
3 extra feeders ( helps about feeding horses)
EDUCATION
Guide the horse in therapy
duty (on duty at the farm on weekends, public holidays and bank holidays and takes care of the property and horses)
Instructor (trained volunteers for each volunteer position)
conditioner / feeders (conditioners riding and take care of physical and mental condition of the horse, and the feeder feed the horses)
Coordination Team-coordinator / volunteer coordination (coordination of all segments of volunteer work)
The therapeutic teams hores leader/ therapists assistant /
Time activities:
8:00 to 8:30 - Drain Cleaning
8:30 to 9:00 - performance horses from the stables
9:00 to 10:30 - cleaning the barn
9:00 to 19:00 - Therapy with horses (start every hour on the hour and last 45 minutes) and conditioning (30 minutes)
18:00 to 20:00 - the introduction of the horse in the stables and feeding horses
A volunteer on each segment of training has an instructor who teaches, supervises and evaluates.
Volunteers: enhanced and / or developed core competencies, enhanced / and / or developed skills, learned a new language, improved native language, experience in therapies using horses, experience working with children with disabilities, experience working with horses, greater awareness volunteer associations Wings mobility and volunteering outside the home country
Organization: enhanced volunteer program, the experience of working on EU projects, raised the quality of the implementation of the basic program of therapy using horses
Increasing awareness of young people about the possibility of acquiring work experience, increase competencies and skills needed in the labor market through volunteer work which contributes to the reduction of unemployment. Interculturality promotes democracy and tolerance and awareness of civil society.
